Meadow strawberry care is standard and consists of watering and top dressing, which are especially important in the phases of flowering and ripening of the berry, as well as after harvesting. It is recommended to use complex fertilizers such as Zdraven, Kemira Lux and Ideal: they positively affect the yield and quality characteristics of berries.
Also, strawberries require weeding and loosening of the soil, preventive spraying. For protection against plant parasites, the recommended preparations are Akarin and Iskra-bio, and Fitosporin, against the main diseases.
Ripe berries of meadow strawberries are widely used for making jam, desserts, pastries, for freezing and drying.
How to plant meadow strawberries
Strawberry meadow differs from wild strawberries in the spherical shape of berries, as well as its characteristic taste and aroma. In central Russia, the berry fully ripens in late June or early July. The culture does not differ in high productivity, therefore, its cultivation in household plots and garden plots is economically inexpedient and is rather decorative in nature. If you are going to cultivate strawberries primarily for the sake of a berry, it is better to give preference to other varieties.
