Harmful insects and mites often appear on crops grown in agriculture. For their destruction on vegetables and other crops, preparations based on pyrethroids have been developed. Consider the instructions for the use of the Talstar insecticide, the composition and form of release, the mechanism of action and purpose, correct use, consumption rate, dosage for different crops. Is it possible to combine an insecticide with other pesticides, how to store it, are there any substitutes.

Composition and form of release of funds

Talstar manufactures FMS Chemical in the form of emulsion concentrate in 5 liter canisters. Its active compound is bifenthrin, in an amount of 100 g per 1 liter. The insecticide has an intestinal and contact effect.

Spectrum and mechanism of action

According to the instructions, "Talstar" is used on tomatoes and cucumbers grown in greenhouses, from aphids, spider mites and whiteflies. But the agent is also used to treat cotton, grain and fruit crops, grapes from the same pests, as well as from thrips, bedbugs, leaf rollers, moths and leaf-eating insects.

Bifenthrin, like all substances from the pyrethroid class, acts on the nervous system of pests. The destructive effect is manifested on insects at all stages of development: eggs, larvae and adults.

Symptoms of poisoning are similar to those of organochlorine drugs: first, the insects are very agitated, then paralysis sets in. The substance disrupts metabolic processes in cell membranes. In addition to insecticidal, bifenthrin has a repellent effect.

Insects and ticks do not get used to "Talstar", the drug has a long protective effect, is not phytotoxic, does not poison humans and animals. The tool is economically consumed, it is beneficial to use it, because it has both insecticidal and acaricidal properties.

Application of a highly effective insect-acaricide

For greenhouse tomatoes and cucumbers, the rate of application of Talstar depends on the pest (in liters per hectare):

  • greenhouse whitefly - 1.2-2.4;
  • spider mite - 0.6-1.2;
  • aphid - 0.4-0.8.

A one-time treatment is carried out, 1000-3000 liters per hectare are consumed for all crops. The waiting period for tomatoes is 3 days, for cucumbers - 5 days.

When applied on apple, cotton and grapes, Talstar also has an effect on ticks, so by treating it, you can reduce the amount of other acaricidal sprays.

Spray cultures with a solution prepared before starting work. The death of insects continues for 12 hours. The duration of the protective effect of the drug is 30-40 days.

Safety precautions when working with Talstar

The product has a hazard class for people - 2, which means moderately hazardous substances. For bees, the drug is poisonous, hazard class 1. It is prohibited to use the agent in gardens during flowering and summer bees. You can not use "Talstar" in the area of reservoirs, fish farms and water sources.

Work with Talstar solution and prepare it in tight protective clothing, put gloves on your hands, and a respirator and goggles on your face to prevent the solution from getting into your eyes and nose. During spraying, do not smoke, eat or drink, remove personal protective equipment. After work, wash your face and hands with soap and water.

If the insecticide solution accidentally gets into the eyes or on the skin, rinse them with water for 15 minutes. If the insecticidal liquid enters the stomach, it is necessary to rinse: drink 6-7 tablets of activated carbon and drink 1 liter of water. After 15 minutes induce vomiting. If after washing the condition does not improve, you need to see a doctor. You can work with sprayed plants 3 days after treatment.

Compatibility with other substances

"Talstar" can be combined with fertilizers, plant growth regulators, fungicides and insecticides, which are used in greenhouse conditions. But before mixing it is recommended to check the compatibility of the preparations separately.

If, when mixing in a small volume, no chemical interaction occurs, then pesticides can be mixed, if there is a change in the color of the liquid, temperature, precipitation occurs, then they cannot be mixed. You need to either pick up another tool, or process it after a while.

Features of storage of the drug

"Talstar" insecticide can be stored for 3 years in closed factory canisters. For storage, choose warehouses that contain pesticides and fertilizers. Do not put food, feed, medical and household products nearby. The conditions for preserving the drug are a dark, dry and ventilated room.

After the expiration of the shelf life, you need to replace the drug with a new one, discard the remains. The Talstar insecticide solution can be used only for 1 day. Then it becomes ineffective, it is not recommended to use it, therefore, it is necessary to dilute the product in the amount that is planned to be consumed in 1 working day.

Analogs of "Talstar"

In agriculture, insecticidal preparations with bifenthrin are used: Vulcan, Zernospas, Imidalit, Clipper, Pirinex Super, Prokrop, Semaphore. Insecticides have a similar effect and are used to control similar types of pests.

Talstar is an effective insecticide for use in agriculture for the treatment of tomatoes and cucumbers in greenhouse conditions from harmful insects and ticks. In addition, it can process cotton, grapes, fruit and grain crops. The rate of application of the drug is low, the waiting period is short, which makes it possible to collect fruits from plants within a few days after spraying. Due to the powerful action of the drug, 1 treatment is enough to destroy a population of pests of average abundance. If they managed to multiply en masse, repeated spraying is allowed.
