Kokinskaya pear belongs to the early autumn varieties developed by the specialists of the Kokinsky stronghold of VSTISP, located near Bryansk. During the crossing, the “Popular” varieties and the well-known pear gardeners from the French selection “Cure”, well known to amateur gardeners, were used as the parent pair.

The description of the variety implies characteristics such as photophilicity and frost resistance. The best is to grow this variety on relatively heavy in composition, but well-drained and aerated soils. The author of the variety is the famous breeder A. A. Vysotsky.

Description and varietal characteristics

The Kokinskaya pear forms a medium-sized plant with a broad and pyramidal crown shape, characterized by average thickening. The plant enters the fruiting stage at the age of five.

Fruits are medium sized or large. The average weight of the fetus can vary from 105 to 205 g. The fruits have a wide pear-shaped shape. The peduncle is long and thick, with a slight curvature. The skin is greenish-yellow with a pinkish-red blush on the sunlit side. The pulp is white in color with a cream tint, oily and juicy texture. The taste is good, sweet, without astringency.

The fruits ripen fully in the first decade of September. When stored in a refrigerator, the taste and presentation of the crop are preserved until November. They can be used not only in fresh form, but also for processing. Harvested crops are characterized by high indicators of transportability.

Productivity is average and increases rapidly with age. The yield of an adult fruit tree is at the level of 85-95 kg. The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness. According to experienced gardeners, in the conditions of too low temperature indicators can be observed significant damage to flower buds.

The variety has very good resistance to scab and other diseases of a fungal nature. Adult fruit stands need competent crown formation. The variety belongs to the category of self-fertile, but it reacts very negatively to excessive soil moisture.

For prophylactic purposes, it is required to carry out several effective treatments of fruit plantings with such preparations as a 3% solution of Bordeaux fluid, Chorus or Topaz.   • conducting preventive spraying of plants with Bordeaux mixture or with such preparations as Copper Chloride, as well as Topsin-M.

During the harvesting process, it is necessary to prevent mechanical damage to the fruits.
